Our NextSeq500 has been sent to the well-deserved retirement and the NextSeq1000 has joined the Illumina-gang.

Summer vacation is coming up

Between 22nd July to 30th August 2024, we will operate with reduced capacity. Turn around times will be higher, reactions to requests might be significantly longer due to summer vacations. Samples can be sent like usual.

New funding possibility for large scale sequencing

The DFG opened a new version of the sequencing calls with a medium sized demand (€100,000 to €1 million) of sequencing costs. One can now apply for funding together with (almost) any academic sequencing service as a co-applicant. So get in touch if you want to write a grant application!

Access to IKMB by car restricted!

If you want to bring your samples in person by car, please make sure to tell the person at the gate 1) that you bring valuable samples for sequencing analysis to IKMB and 2) make sure to tell them the name of at least one contact person. Access is strictly reduced and they will refuse to open the gate in case you can't provide enough detail! Then you'll have to walk from Olshausentraße to our institute.

Our sequencing service is currently experiencing a high volume of orders. As a result, turnaround times may be longer than usual, and we may have to turn down certain orders. 5th DFG Sequencing Call now open

The DFG opened the 5th Call for scientific NGS projects with a medium sized demand (€100,000 to €1 million) of sequencing costs. The submission of a letter of intent is due March 15th, 2022. Applications must be submitted to the DFG no later than the June 1st, 2022.

Due to global reagent shortages, we can not accept all projects for the time being. We will try to serve all existing collaboration partners, but might turn down new requests, especially from outside Schleswig-Holstein.

Due to the already dire situation regarding turn around times and work load, we decided to not accet new projects, unless the project has already been planned with us. We are truly sorry, but the situation at the moment doesn't allow for more samples in house.

Additional incerease in waiting time.

Unfortunately, we - and many others - have problems getting our hands onto plastic ware due to the increased molecular diagnostics during the pandemic. We have now run out of pipette tips and can't process projects as planned.

Limited service due to Corona

Dear users of the platform, we are on "emergency service only" at the moment until after Easter due to the precautions taken to limit the spread of Corona. We will do our best to help out as much as possible, but projects will proceed slow and some things may not be possible at all for now. Do not hesitate to contact us anyway via phone, e-meetings, e-mail and stay healthy!
